Baby bottle campaign 2017

BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN 2017

Members of St. Joseph’s Respect Life Group distributed baby bottles after Masses on April 1 and 2 in support of the Baby Bottle Campaign. We are supporting Pregnancy Choices Life Care Center (located in Apple Valley) with the gift of money, which is returned by parishioners in the baby bottles the following week.  Last year, St. Joes contributed $4,173 to this campaign, allowing Pregnancy Choices to purchase full-sized cribs and mattresses, and other major items for babies. For more information about our Respect Life Group, please contact Kyle Finken (kyle.finken@stjosephcommunity.org) or call 651-423-4402, ext. 3224.  To contact Pregnancy Choices, go to mypregnancychoices.com (952-997-2229).

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION PROGRAM

Everyone loves the beauty and innocence of a baby. As an expression of that love, St. Joseph Church announces a spiritual adoption program for young and old alike. The members of St. Joseph’s parish family will have the opportunity during the weekends of Oct. 1 & 2, and 8 & 9, to “spiritually” adopt a child who is newly conceived this month.

Not all newly conceived babies are allowed to be born. In fact, more than 4,000 babies lose their lives to abortion each day. It is these babies you are being asked to “adopt”. You may “adopt” a child individually or as a family by signing up during the first 2 weekends in October. Here is what will happen after you “adopt” your baby:

1)     You will be asked to name the child for whom you will be praying, thereby giving the baby the humanity he or she deserves.

2)     You will be asked to pray for your unborn child and for all unborn children, for the power of prayer is great.

3)     You will receive monthly reports through the parish bulletin describing your baby’s development and your child will be born in July.

There are millions of unborn babies desperately in need of your prayers. Please consider “spiritually adopting” a baby and share the love for life that God has given you.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE

40 Days for Life is an international campaign of prayer, fasting and peaceful vigil in front of abortion facilities, with the purpose of turning hearts and minds to a culture of life and bringing an end to abortion.  It is coordinated by Pro-Life Action Ministries. A 40 Days for Life Vigil is held in the Twin Cities in the Fall and during the season of Lent. Our Respect Life Group choOSES 2 DAYS TO PRAY AT THIS IMPORTANT PRAYER VIGIL. We invite you to join us and pray at Planned Parenthood and try making it part of your prayer time.

WATCH THE BULLETIN/E-BLAST ANNOUNCEMENTS IN mARCH AND OCTOBER FOR sign-ups after Masses PERTAINING TO THIS VIGIL.  OUR PARISH IS COMMITTED to fillING slots of 1 hour FOR EACH PERSON WHO WISHES to fulfill our commitment OF PRAYING AT PLANNED PARENTHOOD FOR 2 DAYS DURING THIS 40 DAYS FOR LIFE VIGIL).
